Year 1 Much Success!

This weekend marks my first wedding anniversary! Wooohoo - any excuse to get presents and treat ourselves! Although we never mailed our paperwork in to get one of those marriage certificate thingies....hmmmm. Meh.

It wasn't ever really about the paper work to me anyway.

The wedding was an awesome party and as far as marriage goes I was "married" to Greg long before that fun party, so nothing has changed other than that I love him more everyday! (insert cheesy love song here)

Cheers to my favourite hubby! :)

Childhood Memories

There has been a commercial on TV lately that kept reminding me of a book I LOVED when I was in elementary school. For the life of me I couldn't remember the name or authour of the book... all I could remember was a picture of an elephant in an extravagant home with a black and white checkered floor... not much to go by!!! I used my expert google skills and found this:

If you were deprived of "The Eleventh Hour" or any other Graeme Base books when you were a child, it's time for you to check it out. Base does all the illustrations and writing for his books. The Eleventh Hour in particular gives clues within the illustrations that help you solve the books mystery.

Cuteness of the Day

The jury is still out on whether you will find this cute or creepy. I liked it because the idea is similar to one of my first blog posts.

Check out more of these baby pics here.

Cute love story

This is adorable. I love this old man. So nervous and excited to be reunited with his love. And the best part is how honest he is..."Oh no, she didn't age well at all".

This is where it's at.

The Beard Trust Scale

According to this chart my Dad is mildly trustworthy.

Oh the Places People Go.

A stone forest?!
Did they use this in the movie Madagascar?!

If not, it seems they should have.

Already in the mail.

Say What...?!?!

I can think of many ways in which this would come in handy.

How much more proof do people need?

Stop listening to the 16 year old girl that works at the counter of the tanning salon. She is an idiot. Pale is the new tan.

Check out some super ugly tanned people here: http://www.paleisthenewtan.com/ just incase you forgot how bad they actually look! Trashy & terrible.

I will never quite understand those peeps who don't smoke, exercise and drink their vitamin shakes daily BUT go tanning?!

Read the full article about in-door tanning and cancer here: http://futurity.org/health-medicine/is-indoor-tanning-ever-safe/

Ok, I'm done my Tuesday rant. Cheers to SPF ;)

101 Uses for Ex Wife's Weddings Dress

She left him and she left her wedding dress. So he started a blog that would outline all 101 uses that he came up with for her wedding dress. Seems like it might be a little therapeutic...maybe?

Favourite MJ Song?

Wow, it's been a year since Michael Jackson died. I don't think I would have considered myself a huge Michael fan but no one can deny that he was pretty freakin' amazing at what he did. And we grew up with his music, so what is your favourite Michael Jackson song??

Mine is Man in the Mirror. Second place goes to Will You Be There (props to Free Willy;)

Someday...

When I win $50 million dollars I would like to live on the water. I wouldn't mind one of these views...just sayin'.

Bedroom contemporary bedroom

Original Vision tropical pool

KANNER ARCHITECTS modern living room

Two Fur Baby Friends...

As I have said before..."Children are for people who can't have dogs"...and Orangutans????
These two are the cutest pair ever!! So for those of you who are thinking monkeys and puppies are more up your alley than children take a look! I don't know too many flesh baby siblings who play so nice together do you?

Poodle-do

Ok, so I have been known to dress Gus the Goldendoodle up in outfits. He looks adorable in this Club Monaco sweater (which accidentally made its way into the dryer and therefore became Gus'). Luckily for Gus though, I don't think you will see him on the new TLC show called Extreme Poodles where Poodles are given INSANE hair cuts and dye jobs! I think he looks cute enough the way he is (although that Lion is crazy cute...hmmmmm).

Gus in Cashmere

Ohh Robin Hood

It doesn't matter who finds a solution, as long as there is one. BUT Kevin Costner?!? Really?!?!
I think the ecard sums it pretty well.

I Dare You

Try to watch this without crying...I double dare you. The first girl when she sees her Dad just kills me. I hope I never have to miss anyone I love this much.

If you can stand to watch this without becoming a crying mess like me, I suggest watching Part 2 by clicking the link in the top left of the screen.

Wow. This video is clearly from a couple years back but apparently is still an option in 2010 ;) It's a tad disturbing.

$1 Earned

I don't ever give homeless people money. I have been known to give food or leftovers because that is what my dad always used to do and it's better than wasting restaurant leftovers.

But last week for the first time ever I gave a young homeless girl some change. I see this girl almost everyday at the corner of Dundas and the 427 exit. She is in her early 20's, sad expression, pretty face and always has an adorable dog with her. I assume she makes a killing compared to some of the other guys I see at that corner.

Anyone that knows me knows it was the dog that broke me. I realize the pooch is likely a tactic of hers, however I am a sucker for a cute hungry puppy. Maybe I will leave some milk bones in the car for when I see her next...

I would also give this guy a dollar just for making me laugh...

Love these!

How cool are these appliances?!? They would be perfect for the cottage, the office or a really fun home kitchen! The colour options are endless - check out the custom colours here!
I don't think I could ever decide which colour to pick!
They have stoves, dishwashers and fridges! The company is called Big Chill. Check out their site - http://bigchillfridge.com/site/

They did it better

Here are 3 cover songs that I think were done better than the originals ;) Enjoy

1. "Forever Young" by Youth Group
Originally by Alphaville in 1984

2) "How Deep is your Love" by The Bird And The Bee
Originally by The Bee Gees
I LOVED this cover so much that I walked down the aisle to it at my wedding xo Unfortunately no music video or good quality concert video - so just watch Carrie ;)

3)"The Man Who Sold the World" by Nivana (probably one of my all time favourite songs;)
Originally by David Bowie

Free Falling

Tom Petty is a musician legendary, but check out Joseph Kittingers fall from space... if this is not some kinda legendary, my rating scale is alll wrong.

I could take him

How many Justin Biebers could you take in a fight?

We are in the presence of a scrunchie

I thought the Season 6 episode of Sex and the City where Carrie explains (and then proves) to boyfriend Berger why no woman from New York City would be caught dead wearing a scrunchie, would end any debate over the scrunchie being fashionable or not.

Most of us had given up on the scrunchie long before this (and rightfully so). I remember throwing mine out thinking there was NO chance in hell anyone would ever wear these again (even that really cool hunter green suede one).

Well they're BACK!!!

On the Marc Jacobs runway, on celebrities like Sienna Miller, the Olsen twins and Catherine Zeta-Jones and in stores like Forever 21, H&M and American Apparel. So now that they are making a comeback and are available in stores will you be running out to get a new scrunchie????

Quitter?

So Quit Facebook Day (May 31st) was a huge bust. Lots of talk, but not too many quitters in the end.

I am not ready to quit Facebook because for me it is still a great and easy way to keep in touch with people plus I am just nosey about what people are doing! I get that it is a little much and there are lots of annoying things about it (besides the huge privacy issues) but I think the key for people who aren't quitting is to limit what they post.

Take down all unnecessary information about yourself, just keep it simple. Be smart about it and know that no matter what you think Facebook is NOT a private place to connect with people.

This video is pretty funny and he has a lot of good points ;) Kris please note the "duck face" photos!

Strange yet Effective

Try and guess what this commercial is selling...

Mr Dave Matthews & his Band

Another amazing performance by my boyfriend Dave Matthews and le Band last night. He is sooo good live! Rated # 38 on Forbes most powerful celebrities list - Dave and the band made $47 Million on the road in 2009! That is a lot of concerts people! This is a recording from the Grammys and my favourite song of the night. Please note the awesomeness of Boyd Tinsley (the guy on the violin) - he totally stole the show last night (he doesn't really steal the show in this video but he is still really cool).

Happy Monday is almost over! Love gus

Gus Quote of the day: "Children are for people who can't have dogs."

I want a Moose.

This is nuts. Could you imagine if this was happening in your backyard!?! Shit son. I'm going to go put my sprinkler on and wait for the Toronto Moose to come visit!

The Everyday Super Food.

Yummy and nutritious - how can you go wrong?

Quinoa can be pricey, but completely worth it.

I often make it as a salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, garlic, oil and balsamic vinegar

This book has a whole heap of amazing recipes and nutritional info about the powerhouse grain, but you can also find some good stuff at their website too.

Why Have Just One?

What I find most disturbing about this video is that I don't think it is supposed to be a joke.

AND this beer actually exists. WOW.

Things that happen when you you're on Etsy...

You lose time and find all sorts of goodies.
Get ready for some gems.

Stuff I like:

A random but lovely cross stitch that let's you honour the relationship between you and your sneakers.

Safety first.
I want this.

Since the iPad was released in Canada this week, I thought this was appropriate.

Weird but good:

This artist has some quality illustrations of animals in suits.
I want this one for my bedroom.

Just weird:

Why?
